Connecting the design with the history

The layout of the book has been influenced by the Bauhaus movement and is entirely grid-based. This is to connect Ingrid's,  the author, upbringing in Germany in the 30's with the story told. And to bring the author back to her roots.

The font used is New Order, as is it's a contemporary font with inspiration from around this time period.

From traditional to bold

The book design was originally created back in 2019, with a much more traditional layout, however, it only felt right to re-create the design in a more bold and modern version.
